In this episode, I chat with Professor Kate Beever. Professor Beever is a passionate advocate for the intersection of arts and healthcare. She founded Maine Music & Health in 2011, a business recognized as the Small Business Administration’s 2017 Microenterprise of the Year and winner of the 2019 Inc. magazine and UPS Store Small Biz Challenge. Professor Beever has organized the regional Creative Health conference since 2014 and co-founded Expressive Wellness Trainings to foster collaboration between arts and health professionals. A leader in the field, she also founded the Maine State Music Therapy Task Force and serves on numerous boards and committees, including the American Public Health Association’s Noise & Health committee. Beyond her advocacy, Professor Beever is an accomplished percussionist, having toured and recorded internationally.
