This weeks episode features two dynamic women, Katerina Vastardis & Silvie Pantsios, who together are Designs by KS! This award-winning interior design team is unlike any other. We talk about residential interior design, the common areas of a home and how their business partnership came to fruition.  What is the difference between an interior decorator and an interior designer? One decorates, one changes the entire space! And these ladies know just how to do this. Katerina went to school for fashion merchandising and quickly jumped ship realizing that was not going to work. Interior design became her passion. Katerina knew Silvie through the greek community and knew she would be the right fit for the company she was working for. Silvie took the job, was trained and learned everything she would have in school. She calls it her paid internship. 'Go for it, it all makes sense. One phone call changed everything' They spent 4 years working for another company and at some point things went sideways. That's when the ladies decided it was time to go and 'steer their own ship'. No one said it was going to be easy but they took what they loved and made it better while improving themselves. One thing they do different than other companies is that they also sell products, specifically cabinets. They create win-win situations for their clients! Phase 1 - Design, Katerina Phase 2 - Project managing phase, Silvie Building SOLID relationships with contractors, builders, renovators is the biggest avenue in growing their business and of course, word of mouth.  We touch base on the benefits of renovations and what makes more sense, doing it all or breaking it down into smaller projects over the course of many years. Your home is where you live and should make you feel good, 'it should be your oasis'. Working with a business coach over this last year, has positively impacted their professional and personal lives.
