Jessica Beech - Breast Implant Illness . . . More common than you think
This week's episode features Jessica Beech who is one strong and determined woman who hasn't stopped fighting for her health and healing! Jessica is an experienced nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and healthcare industry in the paediatric population for over seven years. She has a passion for helping others succeed not only with their health, but in all areas of life. Jessica has also been working as a Holistic Life and Health Coach for over five years. She has empowered many individuals to improve not only their health and wellness, but also their relationships, finances, personal growth and overall mindset. In our chat with Jessica… We dive right into her extensive health journey due to Breast Implant Illness. Did you know that this is even a thing? "WHY did you decide to get implants?" Was our first question to Jessica. Her reasoning, which is similar maybe to most women who get them, she was bullied in school about them and she never did like her own breasts. The fitness industry is what gave Jessica an even bigger push to get them. Once she started competing she noticed that most of the contestants all had breast implants. "Once I get these, I'll be happy", was Jessica's mentality. Jessica felt good about herself after surgery and was excited to enjoy her new breasts! Unfortunately, two months post surgery, Jessica's thyroid crashed and didn't work well for three months which sent her down an even worse spiral. More things kept coming up and her doctors could not figure out what was wrong. Her close friend brought light to the situation. He told her that she's been sick since she received the implants. Finally, Jessica decided to look more into it. In the back of her mind she knew. She told her friend he was right. Jessica continues to elaborate on her symptoms which wouldn't let her physically work or have a social life. She was in chronic pain every day! It was interesting to Jessica how in the medical industry, where she works as a nurse, they never talk about breast implant illness. After connecting with several physicians and getting no answers, let alone anyone believing her, Jessica took matters into her own hands. She began more holistic approaches like frequency healing, naturopathic medicine and a psychic medium. All of these specialists linked Jessica's health back to her breast implants which were slowly poisoning her. This does not happen to everyone, but it's important to bring light to the situation and to know that this could possibly happen. Jessica encourages all women to do their research and learn more about breast implants as well as breast implant illness. Jessica continues to talk about her journey of getting them removed. This was also very difficult. Finding a surgeon to do this procedure was difficult. Removing breast implants has to be done correctly. There's certain specialist in the world that only remove implants. Those are the doctors you want to see. Everything was lined up and Jessica was on her way to Costa Rica but unfortunately the pandemic hit and international travel was not happening. Feeling so defeated, she kept contacting doctors and clinics in hopes of finding someone to remove her implants correctly! She did not back down! Check out our episode with Jessica to find out more about her results and how she is healing today! There is a movement happening and Jessica is here to connect with you! Please reach out. Success to Jessica is: "Continuing to move forward, not giving up and continuing to fight by still creating accomplishments in life." Jessica's message to women today: “We can either choose to let our challenges defeat us or we can use them as a catalyst to transform us”. To connect with Jessica: IG: @jessicadbee FB: Jessica Beech

Tawny begins by bringing our attention to faith and how it will get you through your life journey. Her purpose is devotion, which she defines as detachment, surrender and unconditional love. Its devotion that keeps her going! “Are you showing up? The beauty of the practice is turning up.” How Tawny got her name as a Woodland Priestess was through spirit which shows up in her dreams. Once Tawny accepted her new names and responsibilities, she came to peace with the earth and connected to the teaching of life and how its a cycle of birth - death - decay - rebirth. We are in need of connection and because Tawny believes in this, she is building a bridge between the old way of being (old world) into the new way (new world). The mind has been conditioned to be on, all the time, so how about we shift to more connection with the soul? The key to this is slowing down, breathing and nature. We talk about values and how adults today are responsible to unlearn what they’ve been taught to be the ‘only way’. This will be a major role in the up bringing of future generations. Tawny believes that earth based spirituality is for everyone. Her guidance to community is based on the values of the Algonquin tribe, ‘The 7 Grandfather Teachings’: Truth, Wisdom, Love, Bravery, Honesty & Humility. Without values there is no use for goals. Success to Tawny is: “Success is presence! Figure out how to be versus always having to do!” Tawny’s message to women is: “Trust yourself! In our chat with Mary… We focus on leadership and specifically her motto of ‘leading from where you stand’. Lead from where you stand is a powerful and brilliant approach to leadership as a whole. It is the ingredient in the mix that ensures that you are staying true to your values and beliefs. Mary believes that everyone can be a leader, everyone has the opportunity to lead and make an impact from where they stand. Leadership is actually a set of behaviours and outcomes that is available to anyone. “Leadership is not a position, it is not a title, it is not about accomplishments. Leadership is a presence, a commitment in a capacity to encourage, support and guide other people through the strength of who they are.” We touch base on some of the skills you can practice today to lead from where you stand. Mary beautifully explains that mentorship makes a difference. Having one person to talk to, learn from, open up to and go through your mistakes with. That is how you grow as a person and therefore as a leader. Some of the other skills we talk about are transparency, communication and effective listening. We expand on relationships in the work environment. Some of the most common questions being “Can you be true friends with your employees, employers or so-workers ?” How do you set boundaries? Mary goes into depth on how she personally handled a situation like this in her life and how she played the game of balancing out work and friendships. Mary beautifully expands on the importance of having powerful conversations with ourselves and taking the time to reflect on the things we do and say. We focus on the “getting yelled at, at work” situation, where it stems from and suggested ways to deal with it. The key question to ask yourself is “I wonder what happened to make them that way? To make that person have the need to yell at you.. Success to Mary is: “Not helping myself, but also helping others lead a better, happier life through the lens of who they are.” Mary’s message to women is: “Kindness will change the trajectory of this world.” Website: www.mariamconsulting.ca

In this week's episode, we had the opportunity to interview the inspiring Cherie Cox. Cherie Cox is a Spiritual Life Coach and Lightworker for those who are ready to shed the beliefs keeping them stuck and rise into their greatness. Through healing, sacred self-love and divine feminine awakening, Cherie will guide you to the life you are here for. Where you remember how truly magical, powerful and worthy you are. Where you activate your soul's gifts and attract your desires with ease. In our chat with Cherie… We focus on the Divine Feminine Awakening. “Live in the light, work in the light, rise above all. Choose light and love.” We begin our podcast with Cherie explaining to us what a lightworker does. “Face your shadows rather than ignore them.” Cherie shares her big WHY with us. Why she does, what she does! What led her to follow the path of light. Her mama was diagnosed with cancer and was given a year to live. There is so much to life than what we just see with our eyes. She had a choice. She could either live in that fear and sadness and let it bring her down or she could choose love and light. And that was the beginning of it all. We touch base on Cherie’s service and the journey she takes with women to help them reignite the light within. You have to honor your feelings, don’t ignore them. Step one to her program is to help women give up anything that does not serve them anymore and that is when the healing can begin. Cherie expands on Shiva & Shakti (Masculine and Feminine Energy) and tips on how to tap more into our feminine energy, which is trust! Instead of forcing something, trust and know it will arrive. Energy flows where attention goes. We discuss a few great examples on how to use our energy to apply to a job or manifest the relationship you desire. Success to Cherie is: “If you feel joyful, if you feel abundant. That is success! Success stems from within and comes out.” Cherie’s message to women is: “You are the light. You are meant to be the light in your life, you just have to choose to find it and ignite it.” To connect with Cherie find her on the following platforms: IG: @rising.earth.woman Website: https://www.cheriecox.com/ https://www.instagram.com/rising.earth.woman/

Alice Sirounis - How can art heal trauma?
In this week's episode, we had the opportunity to interview the amazing Alice ‘Aliki’ Sirounis. Alice is best known for creating a 7-Step-System that teaches anyone how to draw. “My life’s work has been to encourage others to find the joy of drawing and creating art, and how it can actually make you feel better.” With her emphasis on bringing art to all, she creates sessions using something she calls Art Mindfulness* After a series of unexpected life plot-twists, she personally reaffirmed how art can be a powerful healing force. “Difficult relationships and life events can shine a spotlight on the self. Deep knowledge and awareness of the human condition has allowed me an even broader perspective on how to help people using art and a blend of other modalities.” Alice began her career as a classroom teacher in Saskatchewan and has been an art educator for over 35 years. She founded Aliki’s Art House (Calgary) in 1991. An entrepreneur at heart, she continued her second business, Aliki’s Art in Mind, while living in Brisbane, Australia. Alice has taught in several countries, published a book, is a visual artist, and is currently helping others via the therapeutic benefits of Art Mindfulness. Alice enjoys living in the moment. She is inspired by healthy. relationships, nature, creation and creating. Not shying away from having a thirst for learning new things, and her curious nature, her latest keen interest is social activism. *Art Mindfulness Is… Integrating Mindfulness (moment-by-moment awareness of thoughts, feelings and body sensations) with Art Therapy (making art in a therapeutic setting) which naturally helps us access our present, past and future in a gentle, nurturing, non-judgemental way. In our chat with Alice… We get to expand on so many things that all tie together. How can art heal stress and trauma? Alice from her first steps of being a teacher realized how art can get you in a meditative state. You can understand a lot for a person by their painting or the way they express themselves through art. There’s truly something liberating the minute you tap to your creativity and let it guide you. Imagine how your life would be if you allowed and gave permission to yourself to be creative in all aspects of life? A whole new world! Alice is the creator of a 7-Step System that can teach anyone how to draw within 2 hours. That’s right, only 2 hours. This notion that we’re not artists because we cannot paint realistically, needs to be stripped away. Taking the 7-Step System course is the first step that leads to healing. Alice beautifully explains how art therapy can get deeper faster in comparison to talk therapy. Unresolved emotional trauma brings us to disease and dysfunction in our bodies. We have the responsibility to heal our trauma so we don’t dump it out in the world. Finally, we discuss the definition of activism and what led Alice to spend every weekend participating in freedom fighting rallies. Success to Alice is: “The relationship we have with God, with ourselves and with other people.” To connect with Alice find her on the following platforms: IG: @alikisartinmind Email: [email protected] Website: www.AlikisArtinMind.com

In our chat Katrina… We focus on men, men and finally men & women. More specifically we dive right into the initiative born in Calgary, AB, called “MENZ LEAGUE”. Katrina got the urge a few years ago to work with men. She wanted to help the “privileged” men, who are being pushed to the side by society with the excuse that they have it all figured out and are never in need of anything. Studies show that 75% of men are committing suicide, 35% are suffering from depression and 21% is suffering from major anxiety. According to Katrina’s experience, when you ask most of these men if everything is ok, they are super resistant in admitting otherwise. Katrina’s vision became true when she landed the role of Vice President in the MENZ LEAGUE initiative. Mission of the company is to provide a diverse group of like-minded men with a support system surrounding mental health, physical health, financial aptitude and relationships. “Together we hope to become better men”. There’s a MAN in WOMAN. Katrina explains how women can help men become the best version of themselves. Become the better men they know they are and that can only happen if women and basically any human of any gender, take a good closer look in the mirror. It all starts from within. Dina Ottoni-Battistessa Less is More
In this week's episode, we had the opportunity to interview boss mama Dina Ottoni- Battistessa. Dina is a mom-preneur and a blogger. Dina is a mom to 3 boys who always had a passion for supporting parents and children through the early years and beyond. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Child Studies and Development from Concordia University, Montreal. By day Dina is the co-owner at Akidemy Preschool, @akidemypreschool located in Calgary, Alberta. Akidemy serves just over 96 families a year with a unique Reggio inspired preschool program and the Calgary community with parent workshops. By night Dina is busy sharing all her tidbits and experience about children, parenting, and simple living on her blog and Instagram. Dina is also a co-author in the book, ‘You've Got This, Boss Mama’ Nothing short of ambitious, her goal is to continue to connect, grow and always share! In our chat Dina… We focus on how less is more on every aspect of life. Dina’s life has always been about the journey of happiness.”Not trying to chase happiness but BE happy.” Being a woman that wears many hats, Dina loves reading and one specific book that she highly recommends is called, ‘Everything that Remains' by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus. This is what triggered the spark for change. A change of lifestyle where less is more. Dina explains how she has been a minimalist her whole life, so getting back to that lifestyle was basically the road back to her roots. Back to the core values that are lying deep within her. She goes into depth explaining all the blessings and challenges that came with the transition of moving from a 4000sq/ft house to almost less than half, with her new home being built in the 1970s. The move was a life statement. A statement of who they are and tend to be as a family. Dina’s family rule is every time something comes in, something must go out. Challenging yet so inspiring. We touch base on how things these days come and go so fast. On how having access to pretty much everything with the touch of a screen has created this need to always seek for more. This makes it the most crucial time in history for parents to navigate the next generation and remind them what is truly important. In order to do so, we need to dig deep and ask the hard questions. What void are we trying to fill when we are always seeking for the next best thing? Is it truly what we need? When will we stop? When will we have enough? Until we face ourselves, we will constantly chase temporary bliss. Less is more. That’s what Dina wants to share with the world and especially kids. Less is more on every aspect of life, not just materials. Anything that doesn’t serve you, has to go. Finally, we expand on Akidemy and how it came to be. It is a project of love and respect to the children. Akidemy is based on children’s interest and how they view the world. Success to Dina is: “Be happy and mindful of what that happiness is.” Dina’s message to women is: “Be brave and take risks, because you never fail.” To connect with Dina, find her on the following platforms: IG: @move.play.mom @Akidemypreschool Web: www.moveplaymom.com www.akidemy.ca

Mary Tompros - Life with Hallucination
In this week's episode, we had the opportunity to interview the brave Mary Tompros. Mary is Mental Health Advocate Mary Tompros is a Toronto based mental health advocate, swim teacher and student. She was diagnosed with a mental illness at 14 and is currently living with a chronic audio and visual hallucination. She is very passionate about changing the narrative when it comes to mental illness and the horrific events that have taken place during wellness checks in Canada. Her goal and mission are to remind people to never lose hope, no matter how tough it gets, because they are the light. She created 'Life with a Hallucination' on Instagram in hopes to raise awareness and to let others know that their voice matters. In our chat with Mary… Mary bravely opens up about her illness and how being an ‘A-Typical’ case, prevents any kind of regular treatment to work effectively on her. She has been trying to navigate her illness through Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Techniques, that help anyone living with a chronic illness. Mary explains that every day is new and different, and how the key to her well-being is, HER! Optimal nutrition, regular sleep and exercise are of her regular regiment. If she does not stay on track, she may get weak and vulnerable. One thing that might not be commonly well known is how mental illness is connected to suicidal thoughts and actions. Mary shares with us her very personal experience and the stigma around it. “Everyone was hush hush, don’t say anything.” Nobody knew of her condition except her immediate family. By keeping it a secret, she felt that she couldn’t be or express herself properly. Mary felt like she was living in a web of lies until one day she just couldn’t keep up with it all and began sharing her truth. Mary advises that your friends love you more than you know. It is a victory when you share your truth with them. People will never seize to surprise you. Finally, Mary states that you can indeed live a “normal life” you just have to adjust it to what works best for you. There’s more than one way to live your life. You just have to start exploring. Mary’s purpose is to bring awareness to mental illness. She explains a few signs that could show us that someone in our circle might be going through a mental illness and what to do. Success to Mary is: “Being happy with herself everyday”. Mary’s message to women is: “Be proud of yourself. The good and the bad, because it made you who you are today.” To connect with Mary, find her on the following platforms: IG: @lifewithhallucination

Marika Miky Gibson Embracing Change

Marika started her journey by getting a Bachelor Degree in International Business Management and French Language. This study took her to Lyon and then Paris where she acquired a Master’s in Energy and Sustainable Development Management. She continued working abroad in France and the Netherlands in Project Management before returning to Canada to work as a Project Manager in renewable energy development. In our chat with Miky… We focus on Change. “Terrifying!” Miky says. Change is terrifying. Doesn’t matter how many times you go through it, every time feels like the very first time. Yet, Miky did it, she took many leaps of faith. She always dived right into new things, which always took her out of her comfort zone. New country, new cities, new language, new people, equals a very new Miky. Experiencing change comes with the biggest growth of all, and that’s the view one has on their life. Miky shares with us her definition of embracing change. All the bumps, blessings and lessons, with the biggest one being that time does actually heal. So cliché and yet so true. Change might be uncomfortable but the minute you understand what motivates you, then you can be anywhere in the world, and that’s just what she did! Finally, Miky stresses the importance of envisioning. Through personal examples she proves how it has worked for her on many occasions of life. Envisioning is no magic. Envisioning helps us subconsciously make all the necessary changes daily to get to where we want. Success to Miky is: “Maintaining connections and being able to be an educator and a leader”. Miky’s message to women is: “If you have a vision for yourself, figure out the changes that need to happen between the ‘you’ now and the ‘you’ in your future, and just start dreaming about what you need to do to get there.” To connect with Miky, find her on the following platforms: IG: @mikygibson LinkedIn: Marika Gibson

She is a film festival Presenter who loves philosophy and existential psychology. Now Nia Foes collaborates with holistic centers, teaches classes/workshops on various subjects and works with people in her office and online. In our chat with Nia… We focus on perception. Nia’s mission is through perception therapy; to help people find the “WE” in their life. Nia states that life is a game and our perception is the key to why we react the way we do in events that occur in our life. What is perception? As Nia beautifully explained to us, perception is the willingness to step into other people’s shoes. Being able to see the circle from all the way around. Being able to see the entire picture. By doing that, we get one step closer in understanding our purpose in this game called life. Nia explains that in order to get a new perception we need to seek the truth. In order to seek the truth, we have to ask questions and when we ask questions we get answers. Answers that have always been there but we just never asked the question before. “Ask and you will receive”. As previously mentioned on a previous podcast “Life is happening FOR you and NOT TO you”. Nia proves the above saying with the simplest examples so it’s easy to understand and stresses the fact that our belief system is linked to our perception. Step one is to realize why our perception is the way it is and then look deep into our very core. Why do we have them? Where did they come from? Is it truly something we believe or is it something we could have believed years ago and now things have changed? Is our belief system truly ours or something we have adopted from our family? Finally, we touched base on words and how powerful they are. We can shift perception just by changing a word. Imagine what we could do if we changed our whole vocabulary! Words can cause or just simply save us from trauma. Success to Nia is: “When the time comes to pass on to a different dimension, to have my consciousness clear and be able to have loved, created and prepared my daughter for this crazy ride. ” Nia’s message to women is: “Make sure you put yourself into someone else’s shoes.” To connect with Nia, find her on the following platforms: FB: Νία Φώη–Nia Foes Instagram: @niafoes Email: [email protected]
