In this week’s episode Maddy is speaking with Katie Day, who on November 19th 2021 is officially 1 year in remission from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma! Katie discusses the first symptoms she experienced while in her senior of college and what led her to go get checked and ultimately receive the official diagnosis. She talks about doing REPOC chemo treatment and how she had to be hooked up to chemo 24/7 for 5 days at a time. We also discuss the process of how she decided not to freeze her eggs and what she did instead, why a traditional support group didn’t feel right for her and how she found amazing support through social media and the online young adult cancer community. Katie has started playing tennis again and is now in school abroad in the UK!
