"I remember just being super kind of insecure about playing it, because it was just so simple. It was quite personal. I remember just their reaction straightaway, it was like, 'man, this is amazing'."

You'll know Katy from Perth band Little Birdy who made huge waves around Australia with their three albums. Brother is from their last, Confetti.

Brother is a deeply personal song – it's vulnerable and tells the story of her brother Luke Steele [formerly The Sleepy Jackson and Empire of the Sun] and their father, blues musician Rick Steele.

It starts with the lyrics:
My Brother he taught me how to fly
My Papa he taught me how to cry
