Kaunakakai, HI - The County Fair Inspector Gets by on Credit and Cigarettes

Welcome to Kaunakakai, the largest town on the island of Moloka'i.  The town was made famous in the 1930s by the song "The Cockeyed Mayor of Kaunakakai" after a visit by film star Warner Baxter when he got drunk during a party thrown for him. It was sung by a number of artists including Bing Crosby.  Luckily we were able to listen to the song to figure out how to say the name of the town.  The town is also home to the island's largest port, Hawaii's largest pier, and one of the last royal coconut groves in existence.  We hope you enjoy our trip through this paniolo town!Small Town News--whose headline is it, anyway? @SmallTownNewsImprov
