KBD, as she’s affectionately known, truly embodies the warrior spirit, is a complete and total badass, and is someone I’m extremely proud to call a friend.  One minute she’s training for the London Marathon and the next she's in the hospital not knowing what was going to happen next. Listen in to find out what transpired, what acted as fuel for her fire, and how her family and close running friends, the Clay Loop Tribe, were there for her when she needed it most to advocate for her care and help her get back on her feet. Just 6 short months after her hospital ordeal, she fought like Hell and battled back to land on the starting line of the Chicago Marathon with a goal of running a BQ.
