Kelly and Dan

A very special treat with the guest of the show has the record for being my longest friend ever, dating back to pre school. Kelly Welchons Colantuoni, and I have always know her has Kelly Welchons, so we are making progrss learning her married name! Her husband Dan also joins the show and it was a blast having them both. Meeting Dan for the first time, he looks like a He-Man action figure come to life. He is in amazing shape, and I told him when we first met, I was not a huge fan because he was always happy and positive. But the more time we spent together, I realized it was not an act and he is a friendly, kind, humble, guy with a great attitude and outlook on life. Kelly and I reminiss about my first trip bringing my friends to visit Siena College. Rich, Uyi, Terry...who by the way Kelly we are going to throw under the bus because she doesn't remember you. Well Rich drove from Providence to pick u up at UConn, got a flat tire, and that set the tone for the night. Kelly and roommate Jermaine took us out and it did not last long, Rich was fueled with range after Tony's garage on the UConn campus did not charge a friendly price. At the Siena bar, we monopolized 2 bartenders and may have consumed copious amounts of shots. Since the statuate of limitations has passed, we tackled several cable boxes and many townhouses could not watch TV. Then ours truly decided to Thow a grill through and air-conditioning unit where sprrks where flying and the real police were called. The officer made the mistake of asking Rich if he has anything to drink. Rich responded, " its Friday night, I am in college having the time of my life! OF COURSE, I AM HAMMERED, I SURE AM NOT STUDYING" and we were escorted off campus. I still have my paperwork rom 2003 saying we are Perona NO Grata and permanently banned from campus. Funny is Dan went to University At Albany and never met Kelly despite only being a few miles away. Dan, a computer science major went into an outstanding career after college, as did Kelly, just not in computer science, and both buillt successful careers. However, they are loving, devoted parents with 4 active children who love dance and sports. Dan was a star hockey player in high school and has a great mind as a coach. He goes over what they did well, what they may hae struggled with and what can be improved on. Kelly an Dan falling in love down by NY City, moiving back to the area to raise their kids, such a fun episode with a lot of laughs. Kelly and Dan made special arrangements juggling 4 kids and securing childcare to be on the show, which was so kind and thoughtful, I am grateful and so happy they finally made it on! Also, with unfortunate health problems, it was very kind of Kelly and Dam to check in to make sure I was doing well. Good people, loyal friends and fantastic parents!
