Kelly & Lora
from Savannah in Savannah Hosted by Savannah Young
Kelly was Savannah’s first female fire battalion chief, a job where every call came down to getting everybody home. Lora was living in Boston when she sketched a house in her day planner. Years later she pulled up to that exact house in Savannah, and three months after that, she had moved. Their story is about trusting your gut, starting over, and what people mean by “when you know, you know.” One of my favorite parts of their story comes toward the end, when they share their pie tradition: every December they bake thirty-five or more pies and deliver them to the neighbors, hot, in costume.
