Alexander in Mimesis Alexander Augustus Alexander in Mimesis tells the story of myself making an artwork, describing the story of myself making an artwork. In many ways the US is a dreamlike reflection of the UK, and during my time there I came to see Manchester, New Hampshire, as a kind of Manchester 2; in response I wanted to create a kind of Alexander 2 to inhabit the foreign land. The resulting piece is a semi-autobiographical, science-fiction adventure which follows Alexander on his artistic journey; through the old factories and graveyards, sports bars and antique shops, museums and supermarkets, dating apps and stem cell research facilities, with a harrowing glimpse into the mysterious beings who live beyond the sky.Artist, writing, direction - Alexander AugustusNarration - Mike BodieMusic - Cornelius LinkSound Design - Alexander AugustusSound Design / Engineering Consultant - Youkyung ChoAdditional instruments - Lukas Henning (rhythm & lead guitar), Trevor Ni Explicit Teaching through Coaching Naomi Cheah I share my reflections on adult learning knowledge, techniques and application from the Provincial Instruction Diploma Program for Adult Education here. As a practising coach, the reflection mostly comes from a coaching lens that aligns under humanism and constructivism theory. Explicit ANGER Alexander Augustus ANGER is a story which follows the adventures of a mutant Queen Elizabeth II into a post-apocalyptic Covid-riddled world. This medieval / sci-fi nightmare is a tongue-in-cheek reflection of the post-truth age we are living through.I wrote and produced this during the global lockdown of 2020, in collaboration with creatives in the UK and Germany, also stuck at home on their laptops. Covid-19, Brexit, the British class system, monarchy, mental health, free will and suicide are dramatised in this work. As the “Leavers“ rush to escape their human bodies by transforming into mech-organic creatures, the “Remainers“ scramble to find some way to survive without them. Armies of Key Workers toil on through the toxic haze and disease, as the elites reveal their new immune bodies to the applause of the global media. Elizabeth, lost and unrecognisable in this new world, would catalyse a transformation quite unlike the others - a being which would change everything.Artist Explicit The Reflect-On Podcast Kevin P Murphy Perhaps one of the largest victims to our rapidly changing ecosystems is that of reflection.
