Kenilworth Chapter IV

In which two old accomplices, Lambourne and Foster, plot mutual advantage amidst ruined tomes and moral disquiet, whilst the resolute Tressilian confronts the sorrowful and reluctant Amy, whose grievous circumstances compel her to defy both father and friend. A sudden summons to quarrel ensues upon a chance meeting with Varney, whose menace is thwarted but leaves a cloud of menace and intrigue hanging over the somber scene.
