Kennedy Center Trump Name Battle | US News

The Kennedy Center is locked in a legal battle over its controversial plan to honor President Trump with his name on the facade and plaza, despite a prior court ruling blocking name changes to the memorial institution. A federal judge remains skeptical, questioning the timing and intent behind the proposal, while the Justice Department argues it’s merely recognition of Trump’s fundraising—not renaming. The center, facing a $23 million deficit and declining revenue, has agreed to delay any inscriptions until at least September 8th, as the judge weighs whether to block the plan.
