In three decades under the leadership of Kenneth Roth, Human Rights Watch grew to a staff of more than 500, conducting investigations in 100 countries to uncover abuses--and pressuring offending governments to stop them. He has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New York Review of Books, and other major publications. He spends his time between New York and Geneva.Roth will be in conversation with Missy Ryan, a national security reporter with the Washington Post who has covered the Pentagon and the State Department. She has reported from Ukraine, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan, Mexico, Peru, Argentina and other countries. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.
