Excitement is mounting in East Africa as the hour nears for Pope Francis to touch down in Kenya. This is his first visit to Africa since he was elected leader of the Catholic church in 2013. He will also visit neighbouring Uganda and a trip to the troubled Central African Republic is on the cards. As the continent builds up to Pope Francis first visit to the continent - Mahlatse Gallens spoke to one Kenyan who is pinning her hope on Pope Francis to give hope especially to disillusioned youth turning to militant group Al Shabab.
