Kenya Post Elections Part II

from African Dialogue · host Channel Africa

It has been announced by the Kenya’s Electoral Commission that the country will hold fresh presidential election on October 17. The commission also confirmed that the ballot will have Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga will be on the list, along with the running mates. This comes as the Supreme Court in the country overturned the results of Kenyatta as President in last month’s poll. Odinga deemed the decision of the court as the first one in history of African democratisation. To look at this decision and its consequences we are joined on the line by: • James Shimanyula, Channel Africa Nairobi Correspondent • Sekou Toure Otondi, Political Science and Public Administration expert at the University of Nairobi
