Episode Description
Kenya opposition leader, Raila Odinga, has rejected provisional results claiming that Kenya’s IT system was hacked in order to manipulate Tuesday's election results. Meanwhile the electoral commission has denied opposition claims. Chief electoral officer Ezra Chiloba has told reporters in a press conference that the systems were not compromised at any point. Incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken a strong lead as votes are counted after Tuesday's election. Figures show that with 95.3% % of results in he has 55% of the vote against 44% for his rival, Raila Odinga. However, the opposition coalition has rejected the partial results, saying election officials have not produced documents to prove their validity. The electoral commission is urging people to wait calmly for full results. To look at this we are now joined on the line by:
