The United Nations Refugee Agency says it is in discussions with the Kenyan government on a way forward regarding the possible closure of the Dabaab and Kakuma refugee camps. The camps host more than 40 000 people. Last month, Kenya's High Court suspended the government’s move to shut down two camps that hold hundreds of thousands of refugees from war-torn neighbouring countries.
