It's inaccurate to say the Bible is God's word. Within the Bible, we have the words of Men, Angels, Demons written in it as well. An accurate way to put it is to say the Bible contains the word of God.  2 Tim 3:16 We can take reproofs, shreds of evidence, teachings, corrections, and instructions in righteousness from the Old Testament scriptures. They are not to be put aside - there's a whole lot we can learn from them. The epistles have their foundation on them, even Jesus gave extensive teachings about Himself from all of the OT. We are not to pattern our lives after it, but we are to learn from it.  Exodus 4:22, Jeremiah 3:1-8, Jeremiah 2:2 From these scriptures, Israel was called a son, a firstborn, and a wife/bride. It's important to note these as they were figures of what the new creation and the church have become.  Ministry is done in partnership with God Fear comes knocking when you're looking at the wrong thing. Your fear could be valid, but so is your faith when your focused on the right things.  The work of ministry is done by faith
