Today, I’d like to share insights from a study conducted by researchers in Italy.The senior author is Sandro Michelini, one of the authors of our paper about a case definition of lipedema for research purposes.The study titled "Lipedema and Nutrition: High Fat Ketogenic Diet as Treatment of Choice” was published in the peer-reviewed journal Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology Reports in April 2024.The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of two dietary interventions for lipedema symptoms — a high-fat ketogenic diet (HFKD) versus a Low Carb Anti Inflammatory non-ketogenic Diet (LCAD).Download the Simplified Roadmap for Diagnosing Lipedema
