This weeks guest is Kevin Hearn who has been a member of the Canadian Hall of Fame inductees Barenaked Ladies since joining them in 1995. Kevin has worked with some of the world’s best musicians and artists such as Neil Young, Tanya Tagaq, Elvis Costello, Tom Jones and for his last six years Kevin was Music Director and keyboardist for Lou Reed who was one of his musical hero’s. Kevin also had a deep friendship with Gord Downie and worked closely with Gord on his last album “Secret Path” and his final concert at Massey Hall. Kevin being a creative tornado has also recorded some innovative and imaginative solo albums over the years and a brand new one was just released Feb 17th called “Dreaming of the 80’s.” The new album features violinist Hugh Marsh along with Carole Pope, Fernando Saunders from Lou Reed’s band, trumpeter Micheal Ray from the Sun Ra orchestra and esteemed opera singer Michael Colvin.The start of our interview begins with a fun chat about our time together when he was a member of the Look People an act that was signed to my Hypnotic Label. Kevin has truly made the world a better place with his presence through music and his generosity and I am honoured to have him on the podcast. For more info on Kevin here is his homepage https://kevinhearn.com Hosted on Acast.
