On this episode, we talk with Kevin McLaughlin, writer, director, and CEO of Daydream Pictures—an award-winning filmmaker with more than 30 years of experience in the New York and New Jersey production industry. At the helm of Daydream Pictures, Kevin serves as writer, director, and editor on his projects, with credits spanning everything from elementary school science programming to America’s Most Wanted. Over the past five years, he has edited nationally broadcast programs for the CBS Television Network, including 48 Hours and CBS Sunday Morning. Kevin’s most recent release is the documentary feature film Riot, a powerful and timely work being distributed to PBS television stations nationwide by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), with a national rollout beginning February 1, 2026. We also dive into his newest project, The Crossing, a true-story-based film involving personal ties, a deeply held secret, and a moving multi-generational narrative.
