We'll be editing this sometime in Poland. Kevin, it's draft week, baby. It's we made it. We made it.

We made it to draft week. I just want to remind people hit that like button, hit that subscribe button, leave a comment, it doesn't cost you anything. And we've had with it so many new people sign up for draft season, Kevin. I just want to say, I know there's a lot of Saints podcasts out there, but I'm telling you, our community is the best one and in Discord where you can get away from social media.

It's simple to get into Discord. You can chat with people and the thing that's great. And the thing that I think people really like and appreciate is me and you especially are in Discord all the time. So it isn't like you like sign up for Discord and you're like the Saints Happy Hour community.

And it's like the community of people that love the show, but like the actual people on the podcast are never there, which I know is kind of how it is in some safe podcast communities. I'm in there all the time. I kind of transitioned away from I link, I lurk on Twitter and watch, but I'm mostly chatting in the Discord because it's fun and it's just a great way to talk Saints and draft. And I think it's awesome and you should do it.

You should sign up patreon.com. All right. So we've come to the home stretch and me and you were talking, you know, how do we do this final draft on the YouTube episodes when you're going to be doing your main draft on the live stream Tuesday. And so we fell on this when we're like, this is the draft you're going to do where like it's kind of I'm going to call it the Ralph and Kevin Hopefield draft.

It's not what the Saints will do. And it's not what you would do if you ran the draft, but it's kind of in that murky middle of like hopeful, like we're hopeful these things can happen for the Saints and we're hopeful that it happens because it'll make it more fun and it'll include the trade down, which they haven't done forever with Mickey Loomis ever when he's been in the GM. But hope spring eternal, Kevin. It's like a Shawshack Redemption.

Hope is a good thing and hope never dies. And me and you, we just keep believing. So that's what we're going to do today. So as you come to this as you come to this draft and you've consumed the most stuff of all this and you're and you're great at it.

And what's your sense of how this draft, this top seven, what's your sense of how it's going to go before the Saints pick? Are you feeling good in the sense of like, yeah, I think the cards are going to come down if we're supposed to poker. It's going to come down how the Saints or are you going to be like, man, it's going to get you're going to get to eight and it's going to be like, you'll feel okay, but you'll be like, not the greatest first seven picks, not how I would have liked how I would do it up. How are you feeling the first seven picks are going to go for the Saints?

I mean, Mendoza going one overall, you know, whatever your feelings are on him or his pro prospects, whatever, I don't care. David Bailey's probably is likely gone, Ruben Bain, hopefully gone. My hope is that the tackle from Miami with I don't want to say let me check his name. I don't want to say for certain that he's Simone, but he is.

Okay. Hopefully he's gone. Actually, best case scenario for the Saints would be if a second tackle goes, R. Vell Reese, I think is gone.

Then you're looking at, okay, where does Jeremiah love? Sunny Styles, Mansour, Delane, where do they all and even Caleb Downs, where do they all fall in those remaining areas and who ends up being available for the Saints? Like I've seen far too many scenarios where Caleb Downs is the one that's available, Tade Downs is probably the most available because it's very rare that I've seen a safety go. Not high.

Yeah. I paid and then Delane and then you're looking at on occasion, you'll see Jeremiah love, make it down, you'll see Sunny Styles make it down. And then from there, it's just like even less likely. I think for the Saints, good scenario, one offensive tackle top seven, you know, whether it's the Miami tackle or whether it's Freeling from Georgia who people like because he's trade see, right?

Or Proctor has been getting out. I mean, I know I listen to a lot of pockets. Proctor is getting a lot of like teams. They can't resist the traits of the Alabama attack of Proctor.

And the thing is, he's gotten his weight down, whether it lasts and it's just for the traps to make people love him and he gets picked out and he goes back to struggling with the weight and doesn't come with a hoping can. That's irrelevant. Like teams, teams are looking for a reason to pick that dude. I feel like, so to me, this comes down to one thing.

I think one tackle is going to go, which makes it the set up and top seven. Okay. But the second thing, Tade, we're another offensive tackle. When you get another guy that we want to push down, I just don't know, like the draft is so comprehensive now and teams have so much information and we have so much information.

I just don't see in this. I don't see you used to get like, holy shit moments in the draft where you'd be like, I didn't want to do this. And like, it would be crazy. But like, we didn't have as much information that, you know, so I don't think we're going to have like an, oh my God moment.

Like, I don't even think you're going to get like a 2017, like Mitch Trebischey, where the bears were like, yeah, the GM was like, Ryan, Paul Ryan, Pace was like, yeah, I didn't even tell my coach. I only told like two scouts and only I knew that we were doing this. And they took Mitch Trebischey at three. So I don't think we're going to get one of those.

But I do think it's going to set up at least favorable to the same. It might not be the, it might not be the, oh my God, we had two offensive tackles and the Browns to carnal Tade at three. So we like like tons of people. But we'll see.

So you're going to run the mock and you're going to start it and we're going to get to eight. How did it, how did the cards fall? All right. So I'm doing this as we're recording.

I did not have this preloaded. I wanted to do it in the moment. Let me close that window there. Minimize that and that.

Okay. And so here's how, here's how the first seven went. Mendoza, David Bailey, Jeremiah Love, Ruben Bain, Francis, Myaga, Miami, Miami. Okay.

Orville Reese. Yeah. Carnel Tade. Not bad.

It's not bad. That leaves us. That leaves us with sunny styles, Kaleb Downs, Mansoor, D'Lane. One point with this.

Reese went five. Reese went six, right? Yeah. That's it.

That is for the trade down society. That's not, if this happened in real life, this is an absolute nightmare for the trade down society because I can tell you that absolute fact, the saints love Reese. And if he gets to, if he gets to five, Kevin, whatever liquor I have, I will be drinking it and I would advise you to do the same. If, if our bell Reese somehow got to five, the saints are making serious phone calls.

So that's, just, just to know, I mean, we're not trading up in this scenario because it's your draft. I'm just laying out what I've heard. Yeah, I believe that. So that would, this is kind of, this is kind of a, this would be a, I think a very good scenario for us.

You just laid out what kind of a nightmare scenario in the background, but what are your thoughts here? This is, this is a good place to be. So I said previously, and this was made, this was made in one of those YouTube shorts, I said that if David Bailey or Sunnie Styles, or even Delaine made it to eight, I would race to the podium, pick one of them. Sunnie Styles is sitting there.

I mean, I have now nine teams who want to make, who want me to make an all who want to try and make an offer for me or for the pick. That's the Cowboys, the Bucks, the Lions, Panther, Steelers, Browns, Bills, Titans, and Titans. I am not trading, I'm certainly not trading out of the first round here. None of those late mid, you know, in this, in this situation, I am going to take Sunnie Styles.

You, what would it take to get you off of Sunnie Styles? Because I'm telling you, I think you know, teams, you name their, this is a real scenario. I think, look, Dallas, their linebackers kind of suck. They need a guy to, like, wear it, they say, wear the green dot, which is kind of, you know, gets the calls from the defense.

Dallas needs one of those dudes. Sunnie Styles would be that dude for Dallas. What would it take for Kevin to move off of Sunnie Styles? And is any of these teams offering you that?

Well, so I'm going through PFF and so they don't give, they don't give the offer. PFS and they'll do the, they'll do here's what the team's offering. The Cowboys, I could get 20, 92, 112, 152, and one of their two first round picks for eight and 73. Ooh, I mean, I'm talking about both sides of my mouth because I am a, I am both a, Jordan Tyson Stan.

And I know his, I know him. I know there's like a 50% shot. He's Marcus Davenport, 2.0, he's a wide receiver. I get it.

But I'm also a Stoney Styles thing. Like he, I just feel like I trust Brandon Staley to like maximize that dude. I'd be really hard pressed. But if I could get that much from Dallas, like if Dallas wants to give me that, I would love to hate watch the Cowboys and be able to be able to get better picks in 20, 27 and all their picks this year good.

Like, I don't know, it's your draft. You do what you want. But I'd be, I got to say, as a person in love with Stoney Styles, I'd have to say find love somewhere else, Sonny. I got it.

I got to do that deal. But what are you doing? I would. So I'll give you another one too.

The Steelers, I could get 21, 53, 76, and 99 for pick eight. That would give the Saints six picks in the top 100. Um, you know, look, these are all if the Saints on draft day took Sonny Styles, and we found out they had these trade down, these wonderful trade down scenarios, I would be, I'd be a little like miffed in a sense that may and that would have been neat. But at the same time, I would be happy with Sonny Styles.

Um, I would be happy with with a trade down like that. But I'm still going to take Sonny Styles. Wow. So we move on down to pick 42.

And I'll say this as we get to pick 42, Kevin is from what I've heard. And you listen, I'm not, I'm not an information guy. I just, I just collect all these information from good sources, crappy sources. And I give it back to the people.

And you do with it what you want. I don't claim to be a reporter. I just like to say what I hear. And we love to deal in rumors, like let this be real.

But I've heard like the Saints, the only way they're moving off of eight is if you give them a 20, 27 first, like the Saints feel like no matter how it falls, they're going to get a really, really good player and one of the top players on their board, they feel like it's going to fall like that. And they're not moving unless they get a 20, 27 first. I'd have to say like, if you're the Saints and you're like, we're not moving unless we get a 20, 27 first and somebody offers you the 20, 27 first, you got to take it. You know what I'm saying?

Like, yeah, that, that, and look, it would listen, I know there's a lot of people that love downs. They love some. We all have our favorites, but like sunny styles, I'd be really scared. I'd be like, man, I don't like, I'd be worried that like in three years, we're gonna be like, you turned down, you're taking sunny styles and you didn't, and you got that package of picks and what you got, what you turn that package of picks is it ain't sunny styles.

But anyway, we're at 42. What are you doing? What offers do you have? So I've got the Ravens here.

I've got the bucks, the bears, the sealers and the giants, the giants, their next pick is 105, not going back that far. The bears are intriguing. They still have three picks in the top 100. Actually, that might be that might be the move.

The Steelers have four in the top 100, but I cannot get, I cannot get all four of them. Here's my question with this. Yeah, you're the Saints and look, I think the bears have 52 and 57, correct? Right.

The bears have 57 and 60. 50 steps like if you get 57 and 60 or something, but here's my question. We want more picks to say, because the Saints in this roster, you've said it all through this draft process. One of the things, as we've done these monsters, you always say, man, it's so hard to fill all these Saints holes.

Yeah. Even when you trade them, because it's Rosser, I feel like the Tyler Shock excitement, and I want to see people like, I really believe he's going to be good. I believe he's going to be a top 10 to 12 quarterback in the league. And I think it's going to happen this year.

I think he's going to be very good. I'm totally on board with Tyler Shock. But I do think it's okay to say, I really believe in Tyler Shock, but he's kind of like deodorant for this roster. This roster is still pretty bad.

Like before Tyler Shock started playing Kevin, they were heading like a bullet train to picking number one, the Saints were. Yeah. Like that's, you can, that was true. So this roster sucks.

So you need a bunch of picks. Here's my question though. You have Tyler Shock. I feel like you need a receiver.

Me and you have argued back and forth kind of like, depending on what receiver you take, do you need to take two receivers? So here's my question. If Chris Bell is going by now. Wow.

So here's the highest, the highest rated receiver right now is Casey Concepcion from A&M. He's 5'11. So guess what? I'm not touching him.

Bernard from Alabama is there. I do like him. I like Brazil from Tennessee, Skylar Bell, but those guys are projected, you know, 58 and later. So I like, listen, I like Bernard.

I feel like Bernard receiver for Alabama, people talk about, oh, he's stealing and blah, blah, blah. I feel like he's just to, I make this analogy all the time. I feel like Bernard is like, take, if you play golf and you take out your three wood and you're like, I'm just taking this three wood on this, on this long hole. And I'm just putting it down the middle because I got trees to the right, trees to the left and a bunker.

I got to play, I got to make sure I get this one in the fairway. Like the Saints need a receiver that's going to give them something in 2026. I feel like Bernard at this point would be that guy. Yeah.

I like Concepcion more than you just because I watched the ton of SEC football. I feel like Concepcion when he escapes the crappy quarterback of Texas A&M, he's going to be pretty good. But he's an upside guy. Like, I don't know how much he's going to give you in 2026.

Here's my question. If you don't go receiver, if you trade down, do you feel good? Like you'll still get a quality receiver that can help the same? Absolutely.

Later. All right. Then you got to absolutely what? So what dealer are we going to do?

I'm glad I'm glad you read my mind. So I was not able to make a trade down to eight just because some styles. I did make a deal with the Bears. I got, I gave, I sent them 42 and 73 and in exchange, I got 57, 60 and 89.

That's a beautiful, that's a beautiful fit. And I want to say this Kevin, I know I love Kevin, me and Kevin, like of all the pockets, you mean Kevin go the furthest back. It was like we started this podcast when I was like, got thrown out of the apartment I was living because the girl I was living with, not me and she said, get out. Me and Kevin were doing this podcast like in 2007.

So like me and Kevin go away back. I know Kevin doesn't like compliments, but I love this draft the way you have done Kevin because you have you have branded yourself as the draft guy, but not only the draft guy, you're branding yourself as I want to trade down, trading down as the way to go. And you do it all the time, but you've done so much research in this draft. You were like, I can't do it for Sonny style.

So you zig when we thought you would zag. And I think that's why you give great insight to the draft that other people don't give because they just kind of stick and they always do what they think you always act like you think they're going to act and they give us the same thoughts over and over. So I just want to say that about Sonny style. The fact that you didn't trade, it shocked me.

But now, listen, I know people, I know people say, if you are doing a mock and you have the Saints trading down, I can't take you seriously and all this other kind of stuff. And it's like, listen, I fully admit that I am crusty the clown betting on the Washington generals, because I thought the generals were do do do do do do do do do do. I get that. I that's what I fully admit that I thought this I am hope springs eternal.

I keep hoping this will happen. I keep being disappointed. And yet I continue to just march forward, banging my head against these walls and eventually it will happen. It will happen at some point.

I may be near death when it happens. It might happen right before the heat death of the universe, but it will happen. We have we have sound effects fireworks, time before the last five years, you got the most of my drafts if you're on our discord, yes, through signing up to patreon, I have done several mock drafts where I make zero trains. I pick at eight, I picked 42, I pick at 73 or whatever it was.

I make all the picks that the Saints have done those and I think I do a pretty good job with in how those some of those have lined up. I just I'm a trade down guy in general and it just so happens that the Saints really do need help across the board in a lot of situations. I mean, look, the wide receiver room does not inspire a lot of confidence. It really doesn't like a la vay was great last year, but every game, well, hang on up until there was a certain turning point, we all were ready to just dump a la vay.

We were ready to put him out on the side of the highway like an old couch until there was a turning point last year. And then even then we were still watching every game like, oh my god, if this guy gets concussed one more time, that's ball game. So we're still sitting on that situation with him. Your number two is valet and then what Mason Tipton or maybe Jalen Polk is your number three?

Or Palmer and come on, let's be let's be let's be real about Palmer and Polk. I we talked about Polk, what was it two years ago, right? We liked him. We mocked him.

He was from Washington. He was with with Pennics and then like they had him room, Roman Dunes, like they were fun and I like Polk and I still do. I think it's a I think it's a really interesting gamble, but you cannot go into 2026 with this. You can't you cannot.

Okay. And even Valet, like he was fun and interesting with Tyler Schuck last year. He didn't prove to be to me anything different than what he was at Denver, which was yes, he's worth the fourth round pick, but he's exactly the kind of guy you pick in the fourth round and you're like, Oh, he's a 40. He's a he's a 45 catch guy.

He's a nice guy to have his number three or number four. Like, so you got to do something at receiver here. So we're what do we got? So I'm not even looking at any trades right now.

I will not. There are six teams offering. I've got the corner back, the Angelo Pons not taking time to exercise this. I guess I am.

I guess I am. Chidarian price from Notre Dame, Chris Brazel from Tennessee, Jake Golday. This is the line back from Sensi trading stukes corner from Arizona, Bryce Lance wide receiver from North Dakota State. And then after that, there's other players and positions that are available that I do like.

Because we have 60, I think I can take a slight chance here and get the guy I want or one of the guys I want because look, there's about three or four guys that I'm looking at right now that I would be quite happy with. And hang on, hang on, hang on, because now I'm doing like some wheeling and dealing in my own head here because I've got Houston at 59 Seattle at 64 Tennessee at 66. Oh, it's the temptation Ralph. The temptation.

The temptation. I listen, you're driving you know what you want. I know. I know.

I'll say this. I'll say this about receiver. The guys you guys you mentioned the one that was is the most intriguing to me, but I wouldn't pull the trigger pull the trigger is Chris Brazel from Tennessee. Yeah, that dude is a physical freak like he is incredible.

You know, he has everything. Five. What's that? Six five.

Six five. He's got everything we want. But here's the problem. Tennessee receivers, they are abusting.

They teams take them. They all flop. And I know team. I know people listen to this and I'll be like, well, that player doesn't mean that this player.

But here's the thing with Tennessee. They don't run a pro offense. Like if you read the if you do the research, if you watch them on Saturday, like I do like they're splits with their wide receivers are just totally whack. And like, I don't want the Saints to they are not the Saints currently they're not in position to make this bet and receive.

If their receiver room was like, sack was like, you felt good about it. And you were like, listen, we're gonna get razzlin and he's gonna contribute 2027. It's gonna be like a semi red shirt year. We're gonna take him.

He'll be ready 2027 and it'll be fine. No, the Saints can't do that. But he's super intriguing because he's got everything you want physical wise. So what are we doing?

As you as you as you said, I said we weren't gonna make a trade. Of course we are. You you didn't trade it. Now you gotta get your now you gotta get your now.

I gotta do a makeup to get that. I'm sending I'm sending 57 and 89 to the Seahawks. Yes, for 64 96 and their 2027 third round pick. See, I love that.

This now gives New Orleans eight picks in 2027. That's really the could I get the two? No, they won't do the two. Okay.

So I am I'm gonna get the third round pick there. I'm moving back a couple of spots across the board here. But I had him I chose to make that decision. Now, Razzle is still there at 60.

So is Stukes and so is Bryce Lance. D'Angelo Pons and Jerry Price went to see Hawks wanted Joshua Joseph. But here's what I'm gonna do. I am instead of hoping that my guy is there at 64.

I'm now going to take him at 60. Okay. I am going to take Danny Dennis Sutton. Wow.

Edge Defender from Penn State. So and guess what? This worked out for me because I'm sitting pretty. As far as I'm concerned, I feel like the bell of the ball at the moment because now it's 64.

Stukes is still there. The cornerback, which is the position of need. Davis Igbenousin, the corner from Ohio State. So I've got two really good corners.

I've also got Mike Washington looming back from Arkansas. I've got Elijah Sarat, the receiver from Indiana. I have Dominique Orange, big citrus. Yeah, that's fun.

It's a fun one. Risky, but fun. The interior defensive lineman from Iowa State. I I'm I feel like we got to get I feel like we got to get two receivers in this draft now because you're getting them you're shopping in the different aisle from the receivers before.

But right are you going to do here? So I think oh I believe that it's tough. See if Antonio Williams was six was a hair over six feet tall. I would really consider taking him, but he's not.

He's five 11. So I can't take him. So what are we doing? I'm going to I'm going to annoy the people who think I should be taking a wide receiver.

Probably you. I'm sticking with the defense. I'm taking big say I'm I'm I'm in love with big citrus. We're going to get a big quarter minute mate.

We're going to get a big gallon of minute made and we're going to hang out together. Listen, we're going to do me and big citrus. Listen, big citrus for podcast purposes. It's amazing.

Like if you draft big citrus and he hits, gave can make t-shirts. We can make jokes. The headlines for the podcast for the next five years. You can mix in citrus.

You can you can go trading places jokes because we're old and we love that movie. You can do all sorts of fun stuff with big citrus and has nothing to do with on the guitar. I support this pick when I'm scared of wide receiver. Oh, you have little faith.

Alright, so what do we got at 96? A gem has fallen through the fingers of every other team. What is that? He's sitting right there for us.

And I'm going to take him out of Georgia State. Oh my God. Ted Hurst. Wow.

He fell into my laps. He's been on the rise since late February since the end since he had a line. I want to pull up. I want to pull up his.

I listen. I point nine res. I love him. I love him.

He's amazing. My fear is he's a guy that he's I feel like he's going to fall. If it goes well, he's going to follow the Vaylay path this past year where we're going to be like, why the hell is he playing? Why the hell is he playing?

Why the hell is he playing? It's Halloween. He's got two catches. What the hell is the problem?

And then mid November Thanksgiving, he's going to cook and by the end of the year he'll have 33, 33, 34 catches a couple of touches. He'll have a couple of good games and we'll be like, oh, 27 her that was a hit. He's going to be ready to roll in 20, 27. But the Saints need more than that.

But I'm not going to knock this pic at all. But what are we doing? I can't listen. I'm keenly aware that the Saints are going to need more help that I've received.

But you got that. I'm going to do it. I know that. One note about these trades that you've done that I really like is if the Saints did something, you know, I don't think they're not going to do this much.

But if they did the trade down in the second or different round and they got a 20, 27 asset that wasn't a first, if they got a 20, 27 asset that was a third or fourth, I would really like that because here's the thing Kevin, we know that if the Saints are as good as we hope in 20, 26, we know Mickey Loomis will wheel and deal at the deadline. Right. And if a player comes available, that's a really good player. And, you know, at the trade deadline, yes, the Colts did the two first for Sawsgården and Dallas did the trade for Quinn and Williams.

But that's the rarity on the trade deadline. Most of the trade deadlines, the big trades are like for second or third or fourth round picks the future year. So if you had an extra third or extra fourth in 20, 27, and you could say, hey, the Saints just traded their fourth round pick and got an edge rusher or they traded their third and they got a veteran wide receiver and that's going to help them put them over the top and win the South. Suddenly, yeah, I mean, you would be disappointed because we'd be like, oh, man, they got an extra pick and now it's gone.

But at least you wouldn't be like, oh, shit, now they don't have any third number, I'm fixing 20, 27. So I really like that trade for that reason. But what are we doing at this next pick? What are we doing?

Okay. So we are at 132. I'm looking at Jack Andrews, the tight end, Eric McAllister, wide receiver out at TCU, Jacobi Lane, wide out from USC Bruce Maxclayer. He's still there.

He's a he's a he's a Max Claire with PFF Max Claire is like rated pretty high. So he ends up going. Yeah, he's in the seventies, I believe. I like him.

He's just a dependable little tight end. We're like higher or I mean lower. I don't know. I I don't see where he went here.

Um, yeah, he's he's already out the gate. So the tight ends that are if you're looking at tight ends, you're looking at Andree's Marlon Klein, Dallen Bentley, I like him. Yeah. And who's my guy?

Where's my guy? Oh, further down Nate Borcher. That's your. Um, I'm tempted to double up at wide receiver.

However, we do not have a corner back. That's right. And I think that we should at least get a corner. Yeah, I think we should get a corner right now.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to grab a guy who tested measured very well. He is from what the hell is that SF Austin? Oh, she's an architect. Yes, Charles Demings, corner back.

I've gone I've gone with two very small school guys back to back. So God help us. Um, yeah, his his numbers look good. He's six one.

He's a B's 190. Measurables. He his hand size is elite. His height's elite for the position.

His vertical jump and broad jump were elite. Arm length is above average. 40 r dash is above average. So I'm going with I'm going with a guy who has measureables.

There's no listed rags here for him. So that is what it is. Yeah, that's a I like I like this big thing. You know, they need a corner.

You like to me, you can never have enough corners. And I feel like and I've said I said on the podcast last week, you weren't here. I feel like corner is one of those positions. You cannot hide with scheme.

Like it like, you know what I'm saying on offense? Yeah, you can be like, Oh my God, we're missing. We're missing. We're missing our best tackle and our center.

Okay, we're gonna we're gonna have to play through. We're going to play three tight ends. We're gonna have to do this. We can we can scheme around it to protect our quarterback and not get into different things.

But when you get injuries at corner, like you're like, we're down on top two corners teams just destroy you. They're just like, we can throw anywhere we want and you're you're you're we sign them on Tuesday and he's gonna play 35% of the nickel teams. No, and they just kill you. So like, I just feel like corner, you can never have enough.

And I love this pick. I know you love sounds like the lane like if the say pick the lane at eight, I would know complaints. But anyway, what's I mean, the lane would be a guy that that should be a day one starter. So so you would you would fill in the look, PFF doesn't think the Saints need a corner.

They say the Saints needs are wide receiver defensive line and linebacker. And sometimes right. But the fact that they took corner off is silly. Like I've taken the lane at eight and they don't give it a high enough grade.

They just give you like a B or something. And I'm like, at piss off the F I feel I feel like the what you think about the Saints, a corner is one of the litmus tests do of did you actually watch the Saints in 2025? Right? Because you know, I love Kool-Aid.

I think Kool-Aid was a good pick. I think in the end, the Saints were correct to trade up for him. I think he's a really fun, solid NFL corner. He's a number two corner in my mind.

You do not want Kool-Aid being your number one guy, but all right, what's next? All right, pick 136. I am staying. I'm going back to offense.

I am not taking a receiver. Well, a wide receiver. I'm taking down the Bentley the tight end. Oh, it's the I like him out of Utah.

Yeah, I think that the Saints still need another tight end. I know we picked up Noah Fant and I know Joann Johnson had a real good had a real great year, but we need more depth. Excuse me, we need more depth to tight end and we need to have somebody that could potentially be an heir apparent at the tight end position. Yeah, here's here's the thing with Bentley.

He's got all the size you want. He's 6'4", 253. He runs incredible. Like he's got all the all the traits.

That's why I love him because I'm a traits war. So you know me, but here's the thing. He's a one year player. Like he everything he did, it's right this past year and you're going to have to teach him to block.

But here's the thing, if you can make him into like an average blocker, he can be a very he could be if you could make him into an average blocker, he could be like a plus version of Foster Morel. That's my opinion of him. So at this point, I love this because I just think it wants you to get down into the 100s. You're betting on production or you're betting on traits.

Like that's what you're doing. So I love this. I love this. What's next?

Okay, pick 150. I'm leaning. I was leaning running back because we still have some pretty good left that running back this running back. That's kind of the Yeah.

So right now, here's we're looking at it running back. We got Lady on Moss from A&M, Jade Knot from Oklahoma. Here's who I was here. Here's who I would have taken.

Kaitran Allen from Penn State. He was the number two guy at Penn State behind Singleton. And Kaitran Allen was getting just as much love as Singleton. I think Singleton had a bad Singleton had a bad senior bowl.

He's the one that's banged up, right? Right. Right. But I am.

Oh, and let me let me throw some love to this guy. Had I not taken Charles Dennings at 132, I would have grabbed this guy at 150 because this is where he seems to fall or shoot. I might have just decided to reach for him at 136. His name is Ephesians Price Sock.

He's a corner out of Washington. He is 6'4", 195. He had a pretty good year last year. I want to make sure I've got like the numbers look good.

His razz that this was it. Razz 9.74. Arm length, hand size and height. All elite for the position.

He has an above average vertical jump. Yeah. So he would be a great guy like this. This is I've said this in Mox prior that there are guys to find in these mid rounds and in these mid rounds.

I guess I mean you would consider yeah three four and five would be mid round. Yeah. In these mid round picks. However, I'm swerving on all of that.

And I'm going to take we are we are we I'm still maintaining operation. Yet Caesar Louise off my television. That's right. We forgot about that.

It's always in the back of our mind. So I am going to take Jeremiah Wright the guard from Auburn. Oh, I let's see. I love this.

Kevin, I forgot to say this was in my notes that I had in for and one of the things I forgot to tell you is if we can't hang the mission accomplished banner for get Razz 3 through ease off my TV, then you failed and I have to lower your letter grade, but you didn't you got him. He visited the Saints. This guy another guy that's that's traits oriented. And here's the thing I want to say about here's the thing I want to say about corner that I've been I'm nice to the people in the discord because they're patrons and we get along and I'm gentle.

But when I when I do go back to Twitter and I for and I yell at people, you know, people will say, you know, in mock drafts, if they take the delay or they take this person or whatever, you know, they'll say, oh, they're saying, they don't know anything about it. You can't take a corner. He's this and this and that's a terrible pick. And I'm like, listen, you can say whatever you want about the Saints, taking offensive line men and taking edge.

I'm not going to I'm not going to defend the Saints with their, you know, when you got fauci and you got Peyton Turner and you got Caesar, you got Trevor Panning. Like, if you want to if you want to scream at them about offensive line and defensive line, I'm not going to argue with you. But the Saints track record at picking defensive backs, it's almost frickin impeccable since 2015. Like, it's just incredible, right?

Go through it. They ain't missed much at all. So, like, if they take a corner, no matter who it is, I just call me naive or whatever. I'm just gonna say they know more than me when they're picking defensive backs.

I'm gonna trust them. That's how that's how I feel when that when they make picks a defensive back, you know, because look, look at the track record. Yeah. So pick 172.

Okay, what do we got? I am going to finally take, I'm gonna take a running back. And I want to, I just want to look at his razz real quick. All right.

The razz is acceptable 7.57. What's his like explosive, like the 40 time explosiveness? Because I feel like his 40 yard dash is elite and his jump is above average. Okay, that's good.

He didn't test at anything else. He is, I would say he is undersized for the position. I thought I didn't want to back. But this is, this is our attempt at replacing Kendra Miller.

Also, I'm again, this is a vibes. This is a pure vibes vibe. Well, no, but I like this because Kevin, I really believe when this draft is done, whatever the saints, whoever they pick at skill guys, wide receiver, running back, tight end, I really believe they're going to have traits, they're going to lean in heavily in a razz. And you're going to have guys that the saints are going to feel can give them explosive plays because the one thing that I've knocked me for my sources, whatever, the one thing that I've heard consistently, all off season, good sources, bad sources, the homeless guy who says he talks to Kellen Moore every Wednesday before Kellen Moore goes into facility.

All of them have said one thing to me, the saints want juice on offense. And you look at what they've done in free agency, a Chan and Edwards on offensive line, it gives them juice. So I think all the pick, the skill guys they pick are all going to be, you're not, you're not going to see a guy where you're like, Oh, he was a lot of tape and he, he's got, you know, his measurables aren't great and his explosive isn't great. But he's, he's going to be there betting on him, him being productive.

No, no, no, they want explosion in this offense. So I like that, like, he's like, well, I didn't even give you the name. What is the name? Desmond Clayborn.

I like that. So Desmond Clayborn from Wake Forest. If he even sees the field, he's already better than the previous Wake Forest draft picks at the same time, in years. That's a deep cut.

That's what is that chip Vaughn and the other linebacker that I forget. Oh, yeah, why can't I pick? I can't think of him. Dang it.

Okay. Yeah. Chip Vaughn was one of them though. Didn't the other guy have like a pirate name?

Yeah, you're thinking of Stanley's own Baptiste. I want to say that. Oh, you know, Okay. But also you put a guy named Playborn in New Orleans.

People will have the guy who could tell some jerseys. That's a good idea. So finally pick 190. Yeah.

My options are, do I go with another guard because a Nez Cooper is still sitting there from Miami. Do I go with a high, a high res special teams like Claire? Because look, Desmond Clayborn is going to be running back three and a special teams guy. Do I go with another special teams player, a depth piece in the secondary, somebody like a VJ Payne or a Colby's Nuski?

Do I go with another wide receiver? Do I take Hidenreich? Do I try a linebacker again? Because look, there's some linebackers in here and wide outs that are that are seem worthwhile.

Is it Zavion Thomas from LSU? You know, you want to pick a linebacker better not be Stanley Arnow quality from Wake Forest. That's the guy that was the other guy. Thank you.

Okay. Pick one 16 and one 18. They just set him on fire in 2000, a 2009 just set him on fire. Continue.

That was the more said draft wise. It was Jenkins, chip Vaughn Stanley Arnow and Thomas Morcette. Good draft because they hit on half the picks. But whoa, those two Wake Forest students.

Yeah, amazing. Instead, I am going to draft the, I'm going to hopefully this is the air appearance, Eric McCoy. I'm taking Pat Coogan, the center. I love it.

Love Coogan. I love him. He's here late. So we got pick one nine eight.

That's the end of the draft. PFF. I'm waiting for the grade this thing. Yeah.

PFF gave me a B plus on this. I like that. Say that. Send it to me.

I want to put it in the post for the patrons and people listening on YouTube. We'll put it in there so they can see it so they can analyze it so they can yell at you. I love, I love Coogan. I will not put this in the draft room just yet.

I love, I love Coogan. I say this all the time. I don't get like, like to me, center is one of those positions where like athleticism, it matters the least. Like it just like center is about just like barely, you've got to meet the minimum requirements and then it's about being smart, being able to work with your quarterback, being able to identify blitzes, all of that, right?

Like that's the thing it's center. And I've said this over and over and over again. People that love this podcast and listen, we love you. You probably get tired of me saying it.

I truly believe in like three to four years when we look back at Indiana and we're like, how did Indiana win the national championship? It's not going to be as simple as Mendoza and Mendoza is the top seven quarter back. Of course, they won the frickin national title. It's not going to be that.

It's going to be like, oh my god, that Indiana team has like eight dudes that are still playing and contributing in the NFL. Like that team was crazy and Coogan's going to be one of them. Coogan's going to be Coogan's going to be one of those picks. You're going to look back in like four years and be like, why didn't teams take the dude who was the center on the national championship teams?

Why didn't he why did he go in round six? That was teams do not know what they're doing. I love this pick. I got to say, my only complaint about this draft is I want a little bit better quality wide receiver.

Yeah, but besides that, I'm not going to argue with it. And I'm a sunny styles guy like I just I think it's going to I think this I think if the Saints did it, it's saying that anywhere close to this and got not as obviously they won't trade down as much as they wouldn't get as many players. But they got a handful they got three four of the guys that you picked out of the they got Coogan styles and like one more, I would be really excited about this draft. Is there anything about this draft where you look back at it and you're like, I wish I would have done this.

I mean, I can see, you know, wanting to get another wide receiver. I mean, there were guys there are guys late that are tall that are like six, two and above. I'm not sure about the overall razz of some of them. But there are there are there are decent prospects in those later rounds that you could get a wide receiver.

I think if you don't get a wide receiver in those first in those first 80 picks, you're you're up against it. Like again, we locked into Ted Hurst like Ted Hurst is sort of typically fallen into that 80s range. And of course, the draft never never falls the way these things are projected. Yes.

If you PFSN thinks Ted Hurst is like, well, I think so, you know, like on draft day, somebody could say, you know, we could pass or either we could pass or actually, I don't think we would pass on Bell. But somebody could draft Bell ahead of us. We could take a different position and say, hey, at 73, this guy that we're looking at, he'll be there at 73. And then another team could just take him and then poof like just gone.

Then you're having to scramble and think, well, do we, do we really reach for somebody that we need at this position? Or do we go best player available? Do we look at these other positions of need that we have? Well, and here's the thing I think, I think fans miss and this is one thing that I think I truly believe draft analysts guys that even the guys that you really like that, that watch the eat the tape and grade the guys and all that.

This is the one thing I think they all have a blind spot, blind spot for even even my favorite one. I think Mina Kinds, people give her crap. She eats the tape. I think she does an incredible job of that.

And Dane Bruggler. But this is one thing I think they always miss is four position groups. Kevin is the plug in. I think Kevin's about to die.

I think Kevin's about to die. I'm charging my phone. Kevin's charging this phone. But here's one thing I think draft guys draft analysts, even the best of them miss is they'll say, well, I've got 17 guys at receiver rated in my top 100.

So if you don't go receiver at 42, you can go receiver at 73. And I think that's not always the case for how these teams grade the players, right? The Saints may look at receiver and they for all we know, Kellen Moore may be a sizes like you. And he may say, listen, I don't want to draft a receiver high that's under six feet.

We got a lot of it. We need size and speed at receiver. So the Saints receiver board may be shrunk down. And they may only have six guys that they really like.

So like they may be more and a bind at these pick spots than draft analysts or fans we think, right? So that's one thing I think I wish all draft analysts would consider. And it's something to think about when the Saints are filling these needs when you get into the second and third round, you may look at the board and be like, Oh, I got a bunch of guys taking away. Maybe the Saints are like, Oh shit, no, we can't.

There's only a bunch of a couple guys we like left. So that's one thing to consider. Final thing, and then we're going to get out here. And I'm going to I'm going to lay it out and you tell me if you disagree or I need to add something.

And I would say you are you're like the president's CEO of the Trade Down Association. And I'm like vice president head of PR. Here's the thing. We, as members of the Trade Down Association, this is what we need Jeremiah Love and R.

Vellries to go top five because if they get to five, the trade up flag warning for Loomis goes up, I believe that they get to five. Holy shit. Look out. Like it could be.

Oh my God, the Florida, the Florida is freaking out for the Giants pick it five. So that's the number one thing. The number two thing we mentioned it already. We need offensive tackle wide receiver, preferably one of each to go or two offensive tackles or whatever to go top seven to help the Saints.

What else do you think could happen in the top seven that would either incredibly excite you or you'd be like, Oh no, like what's what's what's the, is there anything else you're looking at for these top seven picks to have the Saints draft go fall fall the way we want it to fall? No, I mean, I think you laid it out pretty well. Um, like the thing is if carnal Tate was the pick eight, it's a very, it's, it's a necessary pick. And it's just one of those where it's like, you look at it and you're like, uh, like, man, I hope he works out like, yeah, like, it's, it's a good pick on paper, but it's not, it's not exciting.

Yeah. The Saints, like their top 30 visits, like it is clear as day. They want to, they're, they're doing a lot of the work at receiver. Right.
