Khamar-Daban Hiking Incident: Six Died, One Survived
· host Lucid Lab Podcast
On August 2, 1993, a group of seven hikers led by Lyudmila Korovina, set out on a planned multi-day trek through the Khamar-Daban range but failed to meet up with another group as scheduled. Six died but 17-year-old Valentina Utochenko survived. Much like the Dyatlov Pass Incident (which we will of course cover at some point) they all died in mysterious ways. The official cause of death does not explain the harrowing account from the sole survivor - not even close. We explore the various theories for their sudden deaths. One thing we do know is that hiking in Russia is no joke!
