In den darauffolgenden dreiundzwanzig Monaten wurde Khartum zum Schlachtfeld. Die beiden Kriegsparteien kämpften sich Viertel um Viertel durch die Stadt. Hunderttausende flohen, Häuser, Spitäler, Museen – geplündert, zerstört. Seit März kontrolliert nun die sudanesische Armee die Hauptstadt allein. Sie spricht von Befreiung, ruft zur Rückkehr auf, will Normalität zeigen. Doch was bedeutet Befreiung in einer Stadt, die ausgebrannt, geplündert und traumatisiert ist?
