from Kiama Community Radio's Podcast · host Candy Andersen
Join host Candy Anderson as she speaks with two local Kiama LGA children’s book authors, Melissa Mylchreest and Helen Lear. Melissa Mylchreest, founder of King Street Press and Rewilding Life, recently launched Kiama Passport for Kids, a children’s activity book – loved by locals and equally excellent for visiting families – that accompanies children as they explore seven nearby nature spots from Minnamurra Rainforest to Blackhead Reserve in the south. Helen Lear, communications consultant, writer and Kiama Community Radio volunteer, talks about the inspiration behind her first children’s book, Frankie Pants and Mr Fox. An adventure picture book about a super-hero ginger cat, listen in to hear Helen read the book in its entirety. This episode also includes some cracking kid’s jokes as told by local children and music by Wollongong-based singer-songwriter, Clare Roberts.
