Nate Bargatze Is Being Called a MAGA Comic

Johnny Mac covers a packed comedy news day: Tony Hinchcliffe discusses roast backlash on Joe Rogan, defending his “everybody gets them” approach and referencing reactions to his George Floyd and Charlie Kirk jokes. A separate controversy involves SNL posting Nate Bargatze’s “Washington’s Dream” sketch on July 4, with The Daily Beast quoting W. Kamau Bell on the political/business risks of being labeled a “MAGA comedian,” also mentioning Hinchcliffe’s ties to Trump and a photo of Shane Gillis backstage with Kanye West. Rainn Wilson criticizes Ricky Gervais’ stance on actors speaking at award shows. Brian Baumgartner shares a cut Office finale story explaining Kevin owning a bar, ahead of a July 14 “Superfan Extended Episodes” release. Josh Johnson describes making timeless specials; Conan recounts Adam Sandler’s neighborhood prank. Emmy notes include “Hacks” leading with 24 nominations, Colbert’s Late Show getting nine, unusual Variety Series voting rules, and key comedy/animated nominees, plus ratings data on Byron Allen’s CBS block.00:21 Hinchcliffe Roast Fallout02:11 Everybody Gets It Joke03:26 Nate Bargatze MAGA Backlash04:13 UFC White House Debate05:53 Shane Gillis Kanye Pic06:05 Rainn Wilson vs Gervais07:58 Office Finale Bar Story09:13 Josh Johnson Timeless Specials09:43 Sandler Pranks Conan10:12 Emmy Noms Hacks Leads11:20 Variety Series Rules Mess12:39 Comedy Acting Nominees13:37 Animated Program Hoax Bit14:01 Byron Allen Ratings Check Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/daily-comedy-news-with-johnny-mac--4522158/support.Today's DCN is brought to you by MyBookie use promo code DCN!Daily Comedy News is hosted by Johnny Mac and releases every weekday.
