It doesn't take a lot of energy to be kind, but it sure takes a lot of energy to deal with un-kindness.  How to deal with being treated unkindly is a process and a practice as we work at moving through the pain of someone being unkind to you.  How to get as objective as possible as fast as possible to relieve the pain is a gift we give to ourselves when it hurts. Being able to get to a point of understanding why the person did what they did as a result of what they are going helps us take it less personal.  When we don't take it personal, the pain hurts less.
