King Edward the Third Act 2

In which King Edward, caught in the throes of love and conflicted loyalty, commands his servant Lodowick to craft a lofty ode to the Countess Salisbury, whilst grappling with the vexing chasms betwixt passion and honour. Meanwhile, the Countess and her father Warwick resist the king’s unlawful suit with steadfast virtue, setting the stage for a trial of hearts and oaths amid war’s looming shadow.
