Kingdom Driven (Luke 18:18-30, 19:1-10)
from Island Community Church (Memphis) · host Barrett Bowden
Today, we continue in our series "Kingdom Come," studying together Luke 18:18-29 and Luke 19:1-10. Who's kingdom drives you? Yours or God's? Many people have set up kingdoms that are centered around themselves. They are their own King, serve their own purposes, and want others to submit to their way. While our life was created to be lived in happy submission to God's kingdom, many choose to waste their life trying to establish their own. Jesus came to bring us back to God, to change our hearts from rebellion to rest in His reign. He calls us to be totally committed to Him and His kingdom. You cannot follow Jesus unless your kingdom comes to an end. There must be willing surrender and submission. There must be a deep desire and recognition that Jesus is King. There must be a love for Jesus greater than a love for anything else.... even the best this world has to offer. How is this kind of commitment possible? This is the work of God in all who will believe.
