Kingdom: Living Life on Mission — A Church On Mission
from LifeWell Messages
Peter had denied Jesus three times and gone back to fishing—back to his old ways, defeated in his soul. The risen Jesus meets him on the shore of Galilee not with rebuke but with breakfast, an invitation to the table that in that culture declared forgiveness and welcome. Working through John 21 , this message draws three challenges from Jesus' threefold question to Peter: be faithful in spite of the past, faithful in spite of the present, and faithful in light of an unknown future. Romans 8:1 and Romans 12 anchor the assurance that there is no condemnation for those in Christ and that the proper response is offering ourselves as living sacrifices. Trials are promised, not optional, so the decision to remain faithful must be settled in advance. God calls his people not to be successful but to be faithful, even to the point of death.
