Kingdom: Living Life on Mission — Living Life On Mission

Opening a series on living missionally, this message argues that mission is not a passing church fad but the story God has been telling since the beginning. It begins with the call of Abram in Genesis 12 , "all people on earth will be blessed through you," and traces the same thread through Exodus 19 and 1 Peter 2:9. Salvation, the message insists, was never meant to be merely a ticket to heaven or a waiting room for Christ's return. God saves a chosen people, now the church, for a purpose: to live in and for his kingdom right now, since the kingdom is both future and present. Evangelism is reframed as simply talking about the one you love, flowing naturally rather than performed as a sales pitch. A long contrast of what a missional church is and is not presses the conviction that the mantle of mission belongs to the whole church, not only its staff.
