Kingdom PersistenceSeptember 5, 2021Teacher: Daniel Bunn---Mark 4:30-32 NIVAgain he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade."Do not despise small beginnings.Mark 4:11-12 NIVThe secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!
What this episode covers
When Jesus compares the kingdom of God to the mustard seed in Mark 4, he's not encouraging us to take hope in small beginnings. Rather the comparison is inviting us to be challenged to have "eyes that see and ears that hear." In a special message, Daniel Bunn reminds us of this challenge to put on the lenses of the kingdom and recognize true beauty.
