Kirk Cousins turns his replacement into leverage

Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins recently joined the Las Vegas Raiders with a selfless outlook regarding his role on the team. Despite his experience, Cousins publicly stated that the organization should prioritize playing the most effective quarterback, even if that means starting presumptive top draft pick Fernando Mendoza over him. This mindset stems from his desire to avoid the friction he experienced in Atlanta and a genuine respect for Mendoza’s collegiate success. While Cousins is eager to reunite with Coach Klint Kubiak, he acknowledges that he must relearn the system as if he were a newcomer. He remains committed to mentoring younger players and leveraging the expertise of minority owner Tom Brady to improve the franchise. Ultimately, the veteran's goal is to contribute to a winning culture in Las Vegas while proving he still has elite football ahead of him.
