The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions. In Episode 71 I chat with conservationist Kirsty Crawford. Professional dancer turned scientist, Kirsty heads up a variety of initiatives and community projects across Scotland to encourage people in to the outdoors to learn about the incredible wildlife that shares the same space as us all. A stint working at London Zoo sparked an interest and a real desire to learn more about ecology which has now seen her studying for a Masters in Wildlife Biology and Conservation, feature on BBC’s Countryfile and provide countless opportunities for people to connect with the outside world, with a focus on removing barriers, especially for Black and Ethnic minority communities, as well as the more isolated. From cute hedgehogs to the not so known (and loved)mud snail, Kirsty is on a mission to connect people with the world around them, developing fun, interactive and impactful ways to make a real difference in conservation.
