KISP - Ep 124 - LUCKY!

from Keep It Simple Podcast · host Keep It Simple Podcast

I often sit in public places with headphones on but I don't actually have anything playing, I just like to listen to the conversations around me while not being disturbed because I am wearing headphones. Today I got to my new contract early, I needed to be at the office for 9:30 / 10 but instead I got to a coffee shop nearby for about 7:30 / 8 and sat there having a cup of coffee, doing some trading and a bit of other work on the side. I did my normal headphones in but with no music trick and within minutes I was fully engaged in a nearby conversation. The guy was moaning to a friend, mentor or colleague about how terrible his job is, how much he hates his boss and how he deserved a promotion and didn't get it etc etc etc. It got so dramatic that he eventually started talking about how the world was conspiring against him at the moment and there is no God. At this point I actually queued the violins on my phone and listened to some violin music as I couldn't take it anymore. The thing that blows my brain is, yeah we all get down, we all have bad runs but in general, if you are living in a 1st world country, you have a fuck ton to be grateful for. There are billions of people on the planet who would probably cut off their right arm to be in his shoes and he's sat there bitching and moaning about how hard life is and how the world is conspiring against him.... Do me a favour bro! Fucken grow up! I get down sometimes too, I have extremely high expectations and when they aren't met, I can't help but feel disappointed or let down but, then I try to remember where I have come from, I try to remember my journey and I remember that just a year ago I would have probably contemplated cutting off my right arm to be where I am today! Hey, howzit going? Thanks for tuning in to the Keep It Simple Podcast with Byron Ovenstone - where my goal is to help you get from where you are, to where you want to be with each episode. Episodes are released Monday through Friday. In general this podcast will be business focused and it will touch on life lessons I have had the privilege of learning. At times I may go off the beaten track so don’t be alarmed. Please note - I have been known to get pretty passionate and heated so expect to hear some bad language from time to time. The music in the beginning and the end of each episodes is by JOMARS and the track is called Adventure (Original Mix) - it can be found on Soundcloud at the following link - https://goo.gl/zCTuUq If you love the podcast and want to get your paws on some of that sweet, sweet KISP merchandise, it can be purchased at - https://t.co/VK3RIeM0nT I hope you enjoyed today’s episode.
