Kitzur Yomi #28 – Siman 4, Seif 6: Never Take the Body for Granted

from Kitzur Yomi with Yossi · host Yossi Weinberger

Welcome to Kitzur Yomi with Yossi! In today's episode, the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch teaches the importance of washing our hands and reciting the berachah of Asher Yatzar after using the restroom.Whether a person urinates even a single drop or relieves himself, he should wash his hands with water and recite Asher Yatzar. The Kitzur further teaches that if a person forgot to recite Asher Yatzar after using the restroom and later used the restroom again, he recites the berachah only once.In a case where someone has taken a laxative and expects to repeatedly use the restroom over a short period of time, the Kitzur rules that he should wait until the process is complete before reciting Asher Yatzar. The Mishnah Berurah notes that if there is a break between urges, one should generally recite the berachah after each use.At first glance, Asher Yatzar seems like a simple blessing recited after attending to physical needs. But in reality, it is one of the most profound blessings we say. Most of us take our bodies for granted. We assume our organs will function, our systems will work, and life will continue as usual.Asher Yatzar reminds us that every healthy breath, every functioning organ, and every normal bodily process is a miracle. The blessing trains us to notice what we usually overlook. While many blessings are recited over special events, Asher Yatzar is recited after one of the most ordinary activities of daily life. The message is powerful: miracles are not only found in the extraordinary. They are happening inside us every moment of every day.• Wash your hands after using the restroom.• Recite Asher Yatzar after urinating or relieving yourself.• If you forgot the berachah and used the restroom again, recite it once.• Appreciate the incredible design of the human body.• Ordinary bodily functions are reasons for gratitude to Hashem.Today, when you recite Asher Yatzar, slow down and think about the words.Instead of saying it from habit, reflect on how many systems in your body must work perfectly every day for you to function.Gratitude begins when we stop taking blessings for granted.📖 Kitzur Shulchan Aruch – Siman 4, Seif 6🎙️ Hosted by Yossi Weinberger#KitzurYomi #28 #Siman4 #Seif6 #KitzurShulchanAruch #AsherYatzar #Halacha #Torah #JewishLearning #DailyTorah #Gratitude #AvodasHashem #JewishGrowth #Middos #YossiWeinbergerA Deeper MessageKey TakeawaysPractical Takeaway
