What should you check before putting on your tallis—and what happens if checking it will cause you to miss davening with the congregation?In this episode of Kitzur Yomi, the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch teaches that before putting on a tallis, you should check the tzitzis to make sure they are still valid. Particular attention should be given to the strings where they pass through the holes and to the shamashim used for the windings.The tzitzis strings should also be separated from one another so they are not tangled together.However, there is an important exception.
