The Kiwanis Club on Topsail Island just landed a $9,000 grant to launch a bold new initiative: “Feed. Fuel. Teach.” This upgraded Community Supper program now includes take-home breakfasts and hands-on nutrition lessons, all designed to fight child hunger and empower kids with healthy eating skills. A brand-new Wellness Learning Lab will host cooking challenges, grocery navigation workshops, and even gardening activities — plus meal kits for families to cook together at home. All set to roll out at the Kiwanis Education Pavilion in the Greater Topsail Community Garden — itself a success story thanks to last year’s $10,000 grant and over 5,000 pounds of donated produce harvested since March 2024. With more than 85 local groups rallying behind this mission, it’s proof that when a community unites, its youngest members truly thrive.
