Know Thyself / 26 Questions

from keeping it REAL with Jay Scott · host Jay Scott

From Aristotle to John Maxwell, the greatest minds have told us how important it is to KNOW YOURSELF. Many things disconnect you from knowing yourself. Constantly putting everyones wants and needs above your own. Distractions like electronics, drugs, food, alcohol etc. Life transitions and traumatic events. Social pressure, bullies, and not feeling accepted. The goal is to regain your authentic, true self. First thing you must be aware of what you are unaware of. Start with me answering these 26 questions. I answer just about every one of these, as quickly and vulnerably as a person can. It's easier to ignore most of this than face the true answer. Some of these were like a gut punch, or made me emotional. But, its worth it. 1. What are your strengths? 2. What are your short-term and long-term goals? 3. Who matters most to me? 4. What am I ashamed of? 5. What do I do for fun?  6. What activities would I try if fear or rejection did not exist? 7. What am I worried about? 8. What are my values/beliefs (consider politics, religion, social issues) 9. If I could have one wish, it would be? (don't do $$$) 10. Where do I feel safest? 11. What or who gives me comfort? 12. If i wasn't afraid, i would...? 13. What is my proudest accomplishment? 14. What is my biggest failure? 15. Am I a night owl or early bird? Can I arrange my life to suit this better? 16. What do I like and dislike about my job? 17. What does my inner critic tell me? 18. How do I show myself self compassion and self care? 19. Am I an introvert or an extrovert? 20. What am I passionate about? Hobbies/passions/flow state. 21. What is my happiest memory? 22. What do my dreams tell me? 23. What is my favorite book, movie, band, food, color, animal? 24. What am I grateful for? 25. When I'm feeling down I like to...? 26. I know I'm stressed when I...? This is a short survey to look at yourself closer. I found even 50 - 100 question surveys, but i decided to keep it shorter. You can also take a personality test if you don't like this angle? MYERS-BRIGGS, TRUITY, or 16 PERSONALITIES. For free. This can help you find your strengths and weakness as well. Lean into your strengths, or improve your weaknesses. Anything can be changed with awareness, work, and time. Thanks for joining me. Catch everyone on the next one!
