Knowing your value, HR head games and a "Sesh"

from Thoughts Off The Stem · host Justin Barone

Thoughts Off The Stem is a comedy podcast packed with hilarious observations, personal stories, and unfiltered takes on everyday life. Join Justin Barone as he turns life's frustrations, weird thoughts, and the absurd into laughs. We're always telling people to know their value. Don't accept anything less in life than what you're worth. Except when it comes to working. Your value is what they tell you it is. And whatever you think your worth is lie.The economy sucks, unemployment is up and everyone is fighting for scraps. Mean while we've got dudes on the internet calling us idiots for answering when asked our salary expectations in an interview. Apparently it's a trap for idiots. Well sign me as idiot number one, cause I always answer that question. Apparently it's a bad idea because it's an HR trick. You should answer with "I have to talk to my family about that" and avoid the question. How about, don't ask the question if you don't expect an answer. Why are these dudes playing games in job interviews? Why do we insist on playing with people? Can't we just be truthful? Toying with the unemployed in an interview over salary expectations is on par with teasing the homeless with a home cooked meal.Instead of being giant D bags, how about being transparent and upfront about what you expect. You're not a troll guarding a bridge asking potential bridge goers 3 questions to cross.Hope you enjoy the seshVisit Tots420.com check out our merch and help support an independent creator.
