Hey everyone, I'm Robin and welcome to Mal Therapy. There's this saying that says characters built through adversity and I like many things I understood it logically, but didn't understand it experientially. That's not a word. Didn't understand it emotionally as in I hadn't experienced it enough.
I mean, I've moved I've moved countries in school a bunch There's like I've had periods where Actually, no, I'd say I have experienced adversity to a certain level But not to a level where I could fully understand myself and a lot of people don't ever get there But what I mean is I moved to schools a bunch and I I had some like rougher times than others And in the end I was I able at a pretty young age I'd say to find really some of my absolute core values and therefore find who I am at a fundamental level, but but I knew that there was some part of me that I hadn't tapped into because there were some aspects of life that I wasn't experimenting with and I Thought until a couple months ago that I knew myself pretty well But there was in the back of my mind just the thought of there's some aspects of life that I haven't experienced yet and I do not know what kind of person I am in those and I feel like I'm getting to this point. I am Learning finally kind of some small aspects of who I am in those situations and it's strange because I Worked on myself so much I I'm constantly to a fault thinking about the meaning of almost everything I do To do a lot of things that people do I'm trying to find the meaning all of it. I'm constantly thinking about the future I'm constantly just trying to see how everything I do fits in my set of values And I and you think you are settled and you're you're you understand yourself and then bam Just something hit you and you have to rethink your whole person. You think you're pretty calm You think you're low neuroicism and then bam something hits you and you realize that if you don't go running You will explode and you have to clean emotional clutter that you haven't had to deal with in a while And I don't know if any of this is making any sense, but what I'm getting at is Now I understand now I feel like I understand that no matter how much I learn about myself There will always be more that I can experience and that I can learn and maybe when I'm 70 60 80 will I know who I truly am?
But I finally I'm able to understand not on the logical level but on an emotional level that I cannot know who I am until I experience vastly different experiences and Very troubling and interesting. All right. Thank you for listening and have a great day
