The debate over the structure and scale of executive remuneration continues to rage in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. The fine focus is on exactly what is measured and rewarded. Is there a right way to match executive pay with performance? How can boards ensure senior executives promote the long-term interests of companies and create wealth for their owners? While it’s become clear one method for calculating executive pay won’t suit all, the potency of non-monetary rewards is increasingly being considered.
