Consequently, the quest to set a universal standard has been engaging the international accounting, assurance and business communities. Pending the agreement of regulators across the world, a new set of standards may apply before the end of 2010. Organisations that move early in gathering technical know-how and upgrading skills will save on compliance costs, experts say.
