KNX In Depth: Activists pack LA City Council chambers as calls grow for resignations following Nury Martinez's racial remarks--Supreme Court and fetus rights--Angela Lansbury dead at age 96--NASA's DART moves asteroid

from Rising from the Ashes

One of the wildest and loudest LA City Council meetings ever. Activists packed the council chambers today as outrage is growing by the minute over those racial remarks made by former council president Nury Martinez in a secret recording. She's now taking a leave of absence but her two council colleagues who were there when Martinez made those comments were at the meeting--Kevin DeLeon and Gil Cedillo. We go In Depth into the fallout and the calls from all sides for all three to resign immediately. We head to western Ukraine where Russia has fired missiles to try to knock out critical infrastructure. We look into how the people there are holding up. The Supreme Court decides to take a pass on deciding a case that deals with the constitutional rights of fetuses. NASA says its DART worked. It moved an asteroid. That means civilization has a chance if a big rock comes our way. We take a look back at the life of legendary actress Angela Lansbury who died today at the age of 96.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
