Kohler Returns Home for Final Season | BYU Cougars Basketball News

Jaxon Kohler, a four-season Michigan State standout and key piece of their Elite 8 run, is returning home to BYU thanks to a historic NCAA rule change — the “five-in-five” policy that grants athletes an extra year of eligibility. After legal battles led by the 2022 recruiting class, including Kohler, the NCAA is poised to allow him to play his fifth season, giving him a chance to cap his career near his roots. Coming off his best season with over 12 points and nearly 9 rebounds per game, Kohler’s arrival is a massive boost for BYU, adding elite experience and depth to their Big 12 roster — all while aligning with his personal values and faith.
