Koinonia & Forgiveness A Study of Philemon Week 3: Philemon 1:8-16
from North Conway Baptist Church - Weekly Sermons · host Dr.Jay Worthington
In this Sermon, we get into the heart of the letter to Philemon. We will see in the text some very specific and practical things we can do as Christians to resolve conflicts with others. Resolving conflicts is never fun, and rarely easy. But as believers, we have a higher calling to live at peace with one another to maintain the fellowship (koinonia) in the family of God. Series OverviewThe book of Philemon is a brief personal letter from Paul to his friend Philemon. Paul asks Philemon to forgive his runaway slave, Onesimus. This is a revolutionary act that demonstrates the Gospel in action and shows that all people are equal partners through their fellowship with Christ. In the Messiah, everyone is offered God’s gracious gift of life. Through this grace, believers share a koinonia fellowship and become equal partners, extending forgiveness because Jesus has first forgiven them.
