Koinonia - Sermon 2: Hebrews 3:12-14
from North Conway Baptist Church - Weekly Sermons · host Dr.Jay Worthington
We will again focus on our 2025 church-wide theme of Koinonia: Authentic Fellowship. When we think about our salvation, we consider our individual responsibility to place our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We know that this decision cannot be made on behalf of someone else. However, what responsibility do we have for each other's perseverance? Is there a communal aspect to our faith? We will see that the author of Hebrews firmly believes we have an obligation to help one another stand firm in our faith until the end. However, we will also see that the kind of community advocated by Hebrews cannot be found in corporate worship alone; it can only be achieved in small groups like Sunday School classes. Series Overview2025 Church-Wide Focus: Koinonia - Building Authentic Community in the Body of Christ -This year, our focus will be on fellowship, not just casual gatherings for meals, but true biblical fellowship. This is where believers in Christ come together in love, faith, and encouragement. As described in the Book of Acts, koinonia played a vital role in the early church's rapid growth. The same power is available to us today. As we work towards building community this year, we pray that God will use our efforts to bless us profoundly.
