you think its funny how they call it the real world like how could life ever be fake momma says i know youll find you a real girl but somehow you dont believe it at all, not even for your own sake pissed off at nothing running from demons speeding coming home late no fore-thought not even for your own fate then asking God to listen wishing you were something different cause you know youll never satisfy ya own tastes but its all that you know to never fall even low and soar as high as the sky and keep a smile even tho you aint really where you wanna be you need to be giant to see what you wanna see so its time we grow but you could never step on people just over them and over them and over we go but how close can we grow to those that we love if we think that the simple life will never be enough then you beat yourself up, for not having it all nobody wanna be around cuz you're not happy at all the only time you feel right is with a steel mic in ya right hand no doubt cuz you know you're not like them but somethings missing is it simplicity should you leave this all behind but to you its a mystery its history in the making while shaking the wrong hands and taking no glory while playing in the wrong band its what the song says go ahead and runaway leave ya problems here to stay come back another day but that aint you, no quitter no babysitter able taste the sweet but recognize the bitter its the dinner of life, but never potent like last supper dont want the fame, but you aiming for the cash of a true entertainer they cant blame ya, a headhunter they want the bread and butter, you want to meet the ends of ya dreams, they never seem to gleam as bright, as warm, and as high as the sun beams, but you done thinking with your thoughts in the sink. ready to wash it away cuz of what they think you got a gift so now its time to give back no more wasting a time cuz theres no time to sit back its been such a long road you just wish that you found your soul sooner, now go and give that wish back
