The Indian financial landscape was taken by surprise when veteran banker Uday Kotak prematurely announced his resignation as the MD & CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank in September this year. What raised even more eyebrows  was the appointment of Ashok Vaswani to take control of the hot seat. Vaswani is an industry veteran but someone who has worked most of his life at international banks overseas.
