Some are trying to read Christian themes into it, while others see New Age undertones, and many are pulling out their own spiritual takeaways. But the director has made it clear: this isn't a story drawn from the Bible or generic mysticism. The inspiration comes directly from Korean shamanistic mythology, a system rooted in occult rituals and spirit worship.
